Description:

Pear-shaped yuhuchun-form porcelain vase with splayed foot and flared mouth, decorated in a doucai/famille-verte-type palette: underglaze cobalt-blue outlines filled with overglaze enamels in green, iron-red, yellow, and aubergine. The body shows flowering and fruiting branches (including peony and pomegranate) and the neck carries pendent plantain/ruyi lappets over a green diaper ground, with ruyi-head band at the rim and a similar border above the foot. Base with a neatly written six-character kaishu mark within double circles reading 'Da Qing Yongzheng Nian Zhi'. Bright white glaze and very clean, even footring suggest a later production.

Assessment:

Well-painted decorative vase made in homage to Yongzheng-period doucai wares. The extremely bright white glaze, very even and clean footring without kiln grit, and the precise, regular six-character reign mark suggest a modern reproduction rather than an imperial-period original. The palette and border repertoire borrow from Qing court styles, but execution and finish point to late 20th/21st-century Jingdezhen production. A word about fakes.. Qing imperial-marked porcelains are among the most frequently reproduced categories; authentic Yongzheng pieces would be extraordinarily rare and valuable, and typically show kiln characteristics and period enamel texture not seen here. A word about fakes..

Individual Images:

  • Second image shows the base: unglazed footring is even and clean
  • ivory-beige in tone with minimal grit; interior of foot shows bright white glaze pooling. The mark reads 大清雍正年制 in neat kaishu within double blue circles—very regular and likely applied with a standardized hand or transfer. The decoration includes a ruyi-head band at the rim
  • green-ground lappets on the neck
  • and a matching lappet/ruyi border on the foot. No visible firing flaws
  • chips
  • or restorations; the pristine condition supports a modern date.

Provenance:

No provenance provided.

Condition:

Excellent (no chips or cracks visible; minimal base wear; not examined under UV, not officially graded)

Identification Score: 92%

Form, palette, border patterns, and the six-character Da Qing Yongzheng Nian Zhi mark clearly identify the object as a Chinese yuhuchun porcelain vase in Qing Yongzheng style; details leave little doubt about the type, even if not period-made.

Authenticity Score: 20%

The crisp, standardized kaishu reign mark within perfect double rings, very clean and uniform footrim, bright modern glaze, and overall finish are typical of late 20th/21st-century reproductions from Jingdezhen. Without period enamel texture, kiln grit, or convincing age wear, an imperial Yongzheng attribution is highly unlikely.

Decoration: Under-glaze cobalt outlines with overglaze enamels (greens, iron-red, yellow, aubergine). Motifs on body include flowering and fruiting branches—clearly peony blossoms and what appears to be pomegranate fruit with crown calyx; leaves rendered in green with blue outlines. Neck decorated with a green diaper ground and pendent plantain/ruyi lappets outlined in blue and filled with green and red accents; rim has a ruyi-head scroll band in blue and yellow; foot has a matching border. Base: unglazed, even footring; interior glazed white with slight glaze pooling. Mark: six-character kaishu within double blue rings reading vertically right-to-left ‘大清雍正年制’. Condition: no visible chips, cracks, or hairlines; no crazing; minimal wear on foot edge. Overall look: very bright white glaze and crisp, standardized painting.
