This bowl displays many physical characteristics of authentic Jian ware tea bowls from the Song dynasty, particularly the glaze and heavy stoneware body. The lack of clear detail from the foot and inability to see the bowl exterior in full makes determining true age difficult, as many reproductions exist. If authentically Song dynasty, this is a very collectible and valuable bowl.
