This example, crafted by Hickory as part of 'The American Masterpiece Collection,' is made of mahogany with brass batwing hardware, a swan's neck pediment with a central finial, carved fan motifs on both upper and lower drawers, and cabriole legs ending in pad feet. It features multiple graduated drawers and a divided jewelry drawer, showcasing excellent construction quality typical of mid-to-late 20th-century American furniture revivalists.

This is a fine quality Colonial Revival mahogany highboy, made by the reputable American furniture company Hickory Furniture as part of their 'American Masterpiece Collection.' It is a faithful homage to 18th-century Chippendale highboys, with characteristic swan-neck pediment, central finial, fan carvings, and brass batwing pulls. However, all construction methods, hardware, and branding indicate this is a 20th-century reproduction piece, not a period antique. These are nonetheless valued as handsome, well-made heirlooms, especially if in excellent condition. A word about fakes… In the field of American furniture, contemporary and 'Centennial' reproductions are common, but this piece is openly marked as such, so it is not being passed as an original. I put my John Hancock on this opinion!
