A rectangular lift-top blanket chest over drawers, commonly termed a mule chest. Constructed in painted pine with hand-cut dovetailed case sides, applied molded top and base, and an integral bracket-foot base with scalloped cutouts. The lower section presents two short drawers (with a central fixed panel) fitted with simple bail pulls; the lid likely retains original wrought-iron strap hinges (interior not shown). Surface shows an old reddish-brown wash with dry patina and wear. A small, worn paper label or stencil appears on the front.
