Qianlong Style Famille-Rose Porcelain 'Nine Peaches' Tianqiuping Vase

By: Unknown (apocryphal Qianlong reign mark)

Style: Qing revival; famille-rose (fencai) enameled porcelain; tianqiuping form

Origin: China (likely Jingdezhen, Jiangxi)

Materials: Porcelain body with overglaze famille-rose enamels; underglaze-blue seal mark

Age: Circa 1950–1980 (20th century reproduction in the Qianlong manner)

Condition: Very good (light surface wear and minor firing specks; no obvious chips or cracks in photos)

Value: USD 300–800 at auction (decorative/revival example; if period Qianlong, value would be vastly higher)

Maker's Marks / Writing: Underglaze-blue six-character Qianlong reign mark in seal script on the base (apocryphal).

Date: 2025-10-18 00:34:43.016139

Description:

A globular tianqiuping-form vase with a tall, slightly flared neck, decorated in famille-rose enamels with a continuous peach tree bearing multiple ripe peaches, blossoms and foliage on a white ground. The base bears a six-character Qianlong reign mark in underglaze-blue seal script.

Assessment:

A well-painted Qianlong-style tianqiuping featuring the auspicious 'nine peaches' motif symbolizing longevity. The enamels show modern stippled/airbrushed shading and the base carries a neat underglaze-blue six-character Qianlong seal mark, almost certainly apocryphal. Footrim and glaze suggest later manufacture rather than imperial 18th century. Good decorative quality but most likely a mid–late 20th century Jingdezhen revival piece. Fakery check: underglaze-blue Qianlong marks on famille-rose nine-peaches vases are commonly later; enamel texture and very even, bright white glaze further indicate reproduction. A word about fakes.. this category (Qing imperial-style famille-rose) is heavily forged; only pieces with impeccable imperial quality, correct palette and convincing kiln characteristics should be considered period. A word about fakes..

Provenance:

No provenance documents provided.

Condition:

Very good (light surface wear and minor firing specks; no obvious chips or cracks in photos)

Identification Score: 90%

Shape, palette, and continuous nine-peaches design clearly indicate a Qianlong-style famille-rose tianqiuping; the reign mark and decoration are unambiguous for the type.

Authenticity Score: 25%

Several red flags for an 18th-century imperial original: neat underglaze-blue Qianlong seal mark (often apocryphal on later wares), bright white glaze, airbrushed/stippled peach shading, and a footrim/glaze consistent with 20th-century Jingdezhen production. Likely a mid–late 20th-century reproduction.
