Description:

A large Chinese porcelain baluster vase, featuring a flared, scalloped rim and applied stylized 'chilong' or phoenix handles. The body is richly decorated with a dense 'millefleur' (thousand flowers) ground, also known as 'bai hua bu di', interspersed with two large cartouches depicting intricate figural scenes of courtly or scholarly life. The neck also features smaller cartouches with similar figural motifs. The base is adorned with a band of stylized lappets.
