This is a highly ornate palace-style table constructed from huanghuali wood and stag antlers, designed in the style of Qing imperial furniture but clearly a contemporary reproduction. The table features a dramatic carved dragon mask crest, cloud scroll motifs, and an inscribed back panel in Chinese. The frame incorporates real or imitation stag antlers as structural and decorative elements. The top surface and matching footrest display the richly figured grain of huanghuali (dalbergia odorifera), prized in Chinese furniture. While resembling palace furnishings from the Qing Dynasty elite, its pristine wood surfaces, sharp unweathered carving, and the presence of an elaborate (and unlikely) inscription all flag this as a modern, high-quality reproduction. Such pieces are made for collectors or luxury display, rarely for everyday use or through historic imperial commission. The presence of real or imitation stag antlers is consistent with recent workshop output catering to tastes for the 'imperial exotic.' No genuine Qing table would look so untouched by time, and the inscription—while cut in neat calligraphy—is a major red flag, as it mimics commemorative language rarely seen on authentic period furniture. This would appeal to interior decorators or collectors of Chinese-style contemporary pieces, but it does not possess museum-level historical significance or antique value.
